Types Of Hauntings

Residual Haunting
A residual or restligeist (a German word from Restlich (residual) and Geist (ghost)), this is a common style of haunting people have encountered.  The thing about this one is that there are no spirits or entities involved it's simply a recorded event or psychic impressions. The residual style is an imprinted event in the fabric of time or space, for some reason the person's energy you are seeing or hearing has recorded itself in the area of the haunting. With this style of haunting you may see ghostly figures repeating a single event, or phantom voices reliving an event.  They don't know you're there, they don't interact with you, and they just go about their business. Was it the feelings that the person had at the time, was it their last thought before they died, why and what caused the event to be imprinted is still a mystery to most people in the paranormal field.

Intelligent Haunting
This style of haunting the entity is aware of its surroundings. Depending on the nature of the entity it can be benevolent or mischievous. With this haunting you may get small objects moving or are moved, phantom foots steps, partial or full manifestation and interaction with the entity, these are just a few things people have experienced. It can be very difficult to remove these types of entities, because you may be intruding in what was once their home and they want you to leave, or if it is a new home the entity or entities may have some attachment to grounds that the building or home resides on. Some times an entity may attach itself to an object that you may have purchased, an antique or something in that nature, and the area you place the object in may start to have paranormal activity.

Poltergeist
Poltergeist is German in origin "Poltern" meaning to rumble or make noise and "Geist" meaning ghost or spirit. This is why it is referred to as a noisy spirit.  This type of haunting can be associated with small objects moving on their own, knocks and bags in the area of the haunting, whispers, voices and full manifestations of the entity. A good example of a classic poltergeist haunting is the Bell Witch haunting circa 1817. Poltergeist activity can also focus around teenage children in a home specially females. This phenomenon is largely unknown why the person would be causing the area their in to have signs of a poltergeist style haunting but it does happen. To test this remove the child or children from the area of investigation and see if the haunting continues, and when the child or children return does the activity start back up?If yes, then the child or children may be the cause of the activity or a spirit has attached itself to the child or children.

Demonic Haunting
In truth what really are demons?  This question has been researched and discussed in most religious and paranormal groups.  Most speculate that they are entities that have never been in human form hence the term "inhuman haunt".  Some believe that they are the fallen angels that were cast out of heaven.  The fallen angel theory does have some truth to it. Research the book of Enoch, it contains the accounts of the "fall from grace" and what took place.  Chapter 15 verse 8 reads: "Now the giants, who have been born of spirit and of flesh, shall be called upon earth evil spirits, and on earth shall be their abitation. Evil spirits shall proceed from their flesh, because they were created from above; from the holy Watchers was their beginning and foundation. Evil spirits shall they be upon earth, and the spirits of the wicked shall they be called. The habitation of the spirits of heaven shall be in heaven; but upon earth shall be the habitation of terrestrial spirits, who are born on earth."

The giants that are mentioned in the book of Enoch are the offspring of the angels that came down to earth and took the daughter's of men as their wives.  Verse 9 reads:"The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, content, and bruise upon earth. "The Greek word for "clouds" here, nephelas, may disguise a more ancient reading, Napheleim (Nephilim). This style of haunting is the worst to deal with. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to get these entities to present themselves and it may only happen with religious provocation.  Although rare if you find yourself in a demonic haunt we would recommend that you never use any kind of religious provocation (holy water, holy symbol, prayer, blessing, ect..).  This may turn a demonic oppression into an actual possession or in a case of a demonic infestation you may become the target of the entities. Some signs with an inhuman haunt are foul odors with no physical source, growling with no physical source, feeling ill when entering an infected room, religious items are destroyed, knocks or bangs in threes (this can also happen in poltergeist and intelligent haunting), heavy objects moving by themselves, paranormal activity will occur when a blessing or prayer is preformed.

In the case of a demonic oppression some things you may feel are deep depression, hopelessness, lack of interest in things you enjoyed previously, and thoughts of suicide.  In the case of oppression the entity will work on your psyche to wear you down with the goal of physical possession of the person being oppressed and the ultimate end being suicide/death.  These are also signs of severe medical conditions and are not to be taken lightly, if you or someone you know is showing any of these signs immediately seek proper medical treatment or consultation on how to help them. You may also be dealing with someone that has multiple personality disorder (or other medical disorders) and you can actually create another personality in trying to exercise a non-existing demonic. They can take human form but the image will always have some flaw in its appearance, the most common are the eyes or hands are missing. These entities are very old, incredibly strong and they don't mind getting physical if they want you to leave.  You can not destroy these entities you can only make them leave the area they occupy at the time. If you find yourself dealing with this style of haunting it best advised to seek out someone in your local clergy and ask for help from the church.
